Australians like nothing better than taking a refreshing dip in tidal pools so they needn’t worry about crashing waves or creatures that bite or sting. Ross Jones Memorial Tidal Pool at the southern end of Coogee Beach needed some major ‘TLC’ before Metrocorp carried out maintenance there for Randwick Council.

The Result

Work crews cut back deteriorated concrete, restored top and plinth features, and installed a new concrete lining. The many challenges faced included regular tidal flows and constant sand infiltration. The successful result continues to be enjoyed to this day (Image below courtesy Randwick City Council).
