Difficult work done damn well

HEPG Tunnel Rehabilitation

Introduction

This project involved rehabilitation works to 2 sections of rock tunnel located in southern Sydney adjacent to the Royal National Park.

The Challenge

The works were to be undertaken in an environmentally sensitive area with one site located within the Heathcote National Park.

Solution

In order to minimise disruption to the community entry to the tunnels was limited to 2 locations. This required men and materials to be transported up to 600m from the entry point to the workface. Specialist shotcrete equipment was used to achieve this with great success.

Conclusion

The project was completed on time and within budget.
