Difficult work done damn well

The Balmoral Sea Wall

Project Details

A 1500m seawall along Balmoral Beach, largely built during the Great Depression, protects Balmoral Esplanade against wind and wave action from Sydney Harbour. Unsurprisingly, this concrete structure has experienced harsh weather conditions and significant wear and tear over the near century since then.

Busy Site Location

Metrocorp was contracted by Mosman Council to remediate Balmoral Seawall and six sets of stairs. Metrocorp needed to minimise disturbances and maintain reasonable beach access at all times. This wasn’t easy as Balmoral Beach has up to 7,000 visitors per day during summer.

Completed Works

In the end, Metrocorp delivered a quality result on time, maintained access and received no complaints (Images courtesy Sika Australia).
